Valentine’s Day isn’t really an occasion we celebrate much in our home. Andre will still bring me chocolates and a card every year, but I don’t think it gets as much love and hype in this country as in other countries like America.
But whether you’re into Valentine’s Day or not, it is nice to be told and reminded that you are loved. And it’s nice to see the romantic side from the classic unromantics (Hi Andre!), even if only for one day a year!
Valentine’s is also a great opportunity to give. And giving is always equally as rewarding.
So here’s a light-hearted fun way to give some love this Valentine’s Day. (And if you don’t have loved ones, you can just eat all these yourself. Show yourself some love!)
So simple to make, I didn’t bother to take step by step photos as it’s pretty self explanatory. Two Smarties for the kissing lips, a Smartie broken in half for the closed eye, some piped frosting for the hair and some sprinkles for the clothes. Even a little heart sprinkle on their chests. Aw. (The buttercream on their faces is just the chocolate buttercream before adding the cocoa, to make it a lighter shade than their hair.) You can find the chocolate buttercream recipe HERE.
If kissing cupcakes aren’t really your thing, (what’s wrong with you?) these cuties I made with the leftover frosting might be more your style.
I used the same delicious, never fail chocolate buttercream for these cupcakes (and the kissing ones) that I talked about in my welcome post. So good!
Or if you’re short on time this Valentine’s Day, why not buy some pre-made cupcakes and stick some of these cute toppers in them? Nothing says I love you more than “I love you more than this cake” 😉 Though I may be biased, as you know I do love cake!
Here is the free printable for you!
Or download your free printable HERE. (Then print them and cut them out, tape to a toothpick and stick it in the top of your cakes!)
How do you celebrate Valentine’s Day? Or don’t you? Let me know your thoughts!
Happy Valentine’s Day 🙂
