Drool. This stuff is sooooooo good! Dangerously good.
Dangerous as in, I made a whole batch yesterday and today it’s gone!
Luckily, it’s not totally unhealthy: Pink Himalayan Salt is sprinkled onto Natural Almonds and covered in melted Dark Chocolate.
All 3 of these ingredients have amazing reported health benefits!
Pink Himalayan Salt: Contains 84 trace minerals and elements that are naturally found in the body. Benefits include increased hydration, reduced signs of aging, promotion of healthy sleep patterns and more. Source: Collective Evolution
Almonds: Are high in protein, fibre, good fats, magnesium and vitamin E. Benefits include blood sugar control, lowering of cholesterol levels and a rich source of antioxidants. Source: Authority Nutrition
Dark Chocolate: Contains fibre, iron, magnesium and copper with benefits including lowering the risk of Cardiovascular disease and may even improve brain function! (Though we are talking high quality dark chocolate, the higher the cocoa amount the better) Source: Authority Nutrition
I hope this is enough to convince you to make this mouth watering Dark Chocolate Almond Bark because it’s seriously that good! The perfect mix of salty and sweet, creamy and crunchy.
Sweet & Salty Dark Chocolate Almond Bark
250g Dark Chocolate
1 cup Natural Almonds
Pink Himalayan Salt (or rock salt)
Sugar for sprinkling (optional)
Line a tray with baking paper and spread the almonds evenly so there’s no overlapping.
Sprinkle all the almonds with Himalayan Pink Salt (or sea salt).
Melt the dark chocolate and pour over the almonds. Mix until all almonds are evenly covered with the chocolate.
Sprinkle with a little more salt and some sugar (raw or any type of grainy sugar) and leave in fridge to set until hard. (30 mins to an hour)
Break into pieces. And try not to eat it all at once!
Can be stored in an airtight container in fridge for up to 2 weeks but I can pretty much guarantee it won’t last that long. Unless you have incredible will power and self control. Good for you. 😉
As for me, I’m off to the shops to stock up on some more almonds and dark chocolate!
