My little Mila Joy will be turning three in a few weeks. THREE. Her life is flying by right before my very eyes. And she’s still as rebellious as the day she came out on the foyer floor of the hospital entrance! But I couldn’t imagine life without my beautiful and precious daughter. She’s amazing.
When I asked her if she’d like a party to celebrate her birthday, she said she wanted a “Moana/Trolls/Barbie Life in the Dreamhouse/Peppa Pig party”. Lord help me!
As I started to plan out this hectic idea of a Moana/Trolls/Barbie/Peppa Pig mash-up I asked her if she’d instead like a tea party for her birthday.
Thankfully, she said yes! So a good old-fashioned tea party it is. Phew.
In preparation for her tea party we decided to make these gorgeous DIY Gold & Floral Crowns. They will be perfect for Mila and her little friends as they sit around the table sipping from their mini tea cups and picking out cupcakes! And they’ll go so well with the gold and pink theme.
Aren’t they pretty?? I love gold and pink together!
DIY GOLD & FLORAL CROWNS
Faux Flowers (I got a bouquet from the dollar shop and removed the flowers from the stems)
A hot glue gun
Roughly measure gold string around child’s head.
Cut 3 pieces of the same size.
Line up evenly and tie a simple knot at the top.
Use sticky tape to tape down the string to hold it steady while you plait the string.
Once plait is complete, tie a matching knot at the end.
Warm up your glue gun.
Take one flower and push it through the plait.
Put a dab of hot glue around the stem and push the string into the glue until dry.
Repeat with remaining flowers until you have the look you desire.
I love this craft because you can so easily change it up with different flowers, colours or string and it’s such a simple and easy project for the princess in your life!
If you’re thinking of giving this a try don’t forget to pin below for later 🙂 Happy crafting!
