Just like the title says, these cookies are the cookies you need to make when you want a cookie NOW but there’s no cookies in sight.
When you have a major cookie craving but are too lazy to go and buy some. (Guilty.)
That’s when this amazingly good (and super speedy) recipe comes to save the day and satisfy your cookie cravings completely!
No eggs, no milk, no fancy ingredients required. Just the basics you’re bound to have laying around. And the best part is it’s a totally flexible recipe. Have some nuts on hand? Throw them in! Some chocolate? Add that too! Don’t have either? No problem! The cookies taste delicious all on their own.
And with no beaters or appliances necessary, these babies are made, cooked and ready to eat in 20 minutes!
So what are you waiting for??
20 Minute I-NEED-A-COOKIE-NOW Cookies
(recipe adapted from BBC here)
1/2 cup sugar
100g butter, melted
1 tablespoon golden syrup
75g self raising flour
Optional extras (chocolate, nuts, raisins, toffee, candies etc)
50g additional self raising flour
Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 Fahrenheit)
Mix Melted butter and sugar together in a bowl until it forms a paste.
Add golden syrup.
Add 75g of self raising flour.
Stir to combine.
Add optional extras if using. I used chopped chocolate and roasted almonds and they were YUM.
Add extra 50g of self raising flour and mix until combined.
Roll dough into balls making 10-12 and space evenly on baking sheet. Do not flatten.
Cook for 12-15 minutes and transfer to wire rack to cool.
Hope you enjoy these as much as my family do 🙂
